Biography

DARRAGH CULLEN

Born in December 1994, Darragh Cullen was inspired to learn the guitar at the age of eight after seeing Beatles tribute band, The Classic Beatles. From being a member of various bands he eventually came to solo prominence as a 15 year old with the release of his critically acclaimed debut album, The Finish Line (2010). This was followed in 2012 with his sophomore album called Whispers & Silent Screams. Darragh is an accomplished musician and played all the instruments on the albums. He also wrote, arranged and produced all the tracks.

He is currently writing and recording his third album which will be released in 2015. Darragh has recently been writing songs with legendary British songwriter, Boo Hewerdine (The Bible, Eddi Reader, kd Lang, Paul Young). Some of these songs will appear on the forthcoming release.

Darragh is also drummer/vocalist with emerging band The Sour Seeds who released their debut EP in May 2014. And he is guitarist/vocalist with another emerging act, acoustic duo The Words.

  • Has shared stages with acts such as Aslan, Paddy Casey, Little Green Cars, Boo Hewerdine, Bribry, Ham Sandwich, We Cut Corners, Hudson Taylor, The Shoos, Marc O'Reilly, Dermot Lambert, Vann Music, The Riptide Movement, Empire Saints and many more.

  • Has performed in many iconic venues including; Croke Park, Whelans, Ruby Sessions, The Button Factory, The Academy, The Sugar Club, The Village, Workmans Club, Twisted Pepper, The Mercantile, The Lomax (Liverpool), The Stables, The Black Box (Belfast).
